what happens

The Gallaghers have always scraped by, but season seven finds some of them finally getting a leg up, with more changes than the Chicago River. When Frank awakens from a coma to learn that his loved ones tossed him in the river, he declares war – Gallagher vs. Gallagher. But Fiona is too busy improving her own life to worry about Frank’s. Gallagher Golden Boy Lip finishes up his time in rehab, and emerges with a new outlook on alcoholism and his future, whereas the once-unstable Ian is now thriving as an EMT and in a comfortable relationship. Debbie is still figuring out how to be a good mom to young Franny, while Carl has some big decisions to face as he enters manhood.

how it went

Left to right is the season — its first episode to its last. Each remark sits in the episode it was made about.

MEANINGFUL

how much it moved you

Two separate readings, not parts of the score — the score says how much of it held you, these say what kind of watch it was.

Not enough to put a number on. The shape below is drawn from what there is, with the widest uncertainty band we use — it is the start of an answer, not one.

Not enough people said when to name this shape. The line is what the evidence draws, not a finding.

height: how intense it got, 0–100
gold above: how tender it felt. violet below — what it cost. Thick on both at once means it was doing both.
tension rail: how much was still unresolved
grey haze: how sure we are — wider means fewer people described it

Every episode has a page — its synopsis, who was in it, and a place to rate it. A number appears when discussion or ratings support one; where there is neither, the dash is the honest answer.
