how much it moved you
Two separate readings, not parts of the score β the score says how much of it held you, these say what kind of watch it was.

β steady β Holds one level all the way. Pulled both ways throughout β never simply one thing. Very little of it ever resolves. Marked above the line: 1 that landed as a blow.

βThe last 15 minutes, like the previous films, is by far the scariest partβ

βwhen they stay at the moms moms house and Derris finds out that the girls are satanic mothaf*ckas. And then his little girl turns crazy... It was very creepy, and they did a good job building up until that moment.β

βI myself was shocked when they had the courage to kill the main character by snapping his back.... supernaturally. And then the wife, two girls, grandmother, and tons of other people are possessed by "Toby" or soemthing... Not sure about the wife. Maybe she died? They didnt really do a good job telling us what happened, just stating that she disappeared. But then again, she did fly off the staircase and knock him off the stairs..... This really was shocking to me, the fact that they killed the main character, and possess the other co main characters (Little girls and wife)β

βThe important information moves out of the frame helplessly, and the audiences must wait anxiously to see more.β

βThe bottom line, for me, is this: I don't scare easily at horror films, but I watched Paranormal Activity 3 in a state of high anxiety.β
Owen Gleiberman, Entertainment Weekly Β· 91
βParanormal Activity 3, the latest installment in the low-budget horror franchise, is far and away the sharpest, most wildly aware film in the series.β
Mark Olsen, Los Angeles Times Β· 90
βAlthough not exactly breaking any new ground with its by now all too familiar found-footage format, Paranormal Activity 3 hews to the formula in expertly crafted fashion, mustering up the requisite scares and then some.β
Frank Scheck, The Hollywood Reporter Β· 80
β"3" introduces a camera affixed to a fan panning slowly back and forth, offering now-you-see-it-now-you-don't tableaus in the kitchen and foyer. (Of course we never see who's editing this footage, and the story's cameramen keep dying off.) It also brings fake-out jolts and humor into play.β
Andy Webster, The New York Times Β· 80
βThe filmmakers throw in a few cheesy scares: mom in a monster mask, a baby sitter jumping in front of a camera. But the rest is pretty freaking cool.β

βA tad better than the first if only because at 84-minutes there's not as much filler and a couple creepy scenes. Still not great with forgettable characters but at least watchable, although it was a bridge too far with the HD-quality level of video for a camera from 1988. **2.5/5**β

βParanormal Activity 3 is a faithful continuation of the series, delivering all the expected horrors and more. Colour me surprised. This one was better than the second, and I enjoyed it more than the first one. The atmosphere of βParanormal Activity 3β is similar to the first film, and the larger cast delivers respectable performances. The scares might not be as effective as they once were since the same formula is becoming stale, but a handful of fresh ideas were good enough to compensate for itβ

βMy favorite one out of the series. Goes back when they were little kids. This is how it all begin. Lots of hauntings going. This is how I wish the other 2 made before this one was.β
