how much it moved you
Two separate readings, not parts of the score — the score says how much of it held you, these say what kind of watch it was.
Nobody has rated this on FlickFeel yet. This is public discussion of this title, read into a curve. It is not a rating and it never becomes one.
Read from 114 comments (74 from Reddit, 36 from Metacritic, 4 from TMDB reviews) — 26 of them described how it moves.
📈 rising arc — Builds the whole way through. Pulled both ways throughout — never simply one thing. In the last stretch it was tender and painful at the same time, which is the state people mean by being moved. Very little of it ever resolves. Marked above the line: 4 that landed as a blow, 1 that gave people chills.

“I was blown away by the first island and how the scenery looked”

“The betrayal after Alberto reveals himself was still a huge gut punch though. Terrific scene.”

“Oh my god I literally gasped when Luca betrayed him like that. Like I get Alberto was being jealous and they were in a fight, but I did not expect Luca to turn his back on his best friend like that, especially when they are sharing the same secret. I felt so bad for Alberto and their talk afterwards at the fort hit even harder!”

“The part with Massimo’s arm was phenomenal.”

“Also the final song “Go find out for me” was the moment that got me emotionally.”

“This movie will fill your heart up. Casarosa is an artist with a true perspective, fearless in his creative impulses and limitless in his compassion, and Luca is a pure expression of these sensibilities.”

“The layered dynamics and pure, honest emotions underneath Luca‘s simple coming-of-age story are what elevate the film to one of Pixar’s best — and an example of what animation can be if they stop trying to race forward, and just stop and take a breath.”
Hoai-Tran Bui, Slashfilm · 95
“Luca is sweet and affecting, capturing the bond that strangers can build over a summer, and how that friendship can endure. And like its shape-shifting protagonists, it’s got plenty going on beneath the surface.”
Alonso Duralde, TheWrap · 90
“Luca is about the thrill and the difficulty of living transparently — and the consolations that friendship, kindness and decency can provide against the forces of ignorance and violence.”
Justin Chang, Los Angeles Times · 90
“It is sweet, engaging, and has a great message.”
Chris Salce, Film Threat · 90

“Starting from the first moments, where we see one of the protagonists flying, not swimming, flying across the seabed, there is so much the lack of elements that could suggest the movement in a fluid rather than in the air like bubbles that form at the ends, a sway of the seen around the character and in the trail he leaves.”

“I will never forget the first time I saw La Luna with a crowd. The look of the glowing stars scattered in millions and covering the moon left us in awe — like, we literally wowed at the look of them. Was it the first time for our eyes to be graced with the wonder of magical cinematic experience? Definitely not — or at least not for me. But there was a certain tactile sensation the animation in that short evoked in spades like no other. They seemed tangible. I felt like if I stretched my hand I c”
