Nobody has rated this on FlickFeel yet. This is public discussion of this title, read into a curve. It is not a rating and it never becomes one.

Thin evidence β the shape below rests on 1 comment. The shaded band is how wide the uncertainty actually is, and it is drawn to scale.
Not enough people said when to name this shape. The line is what the evidence draws, not a finding.

βGhost Elephants is a portrait of obsession that, while gentler than some of Herzogβs other works, is mesmerizing from the first moment to the last, yet another title of note in what remains one of the most incredible filmographies of our time.β

βHerzog, for his part, remains firmly interested in both nature and man. His camera is enthralled by the animals that occasionally steal into the frame: a venomous spider, covered by its equally dangerous young, gets a frightening cameo. But what absorbs him most is the intense kinship that the San feel with the elephants.β

βThe lean, athletic Mr. Herzog, 83 years old, seems as spry and eager as ever, and his global enthusiasm remains a force of nature in itself. Ghost Elephants takes its place as yet another of the directorβs essential forays into the wild and unknown.β

βGhost Elephants is an almost diaristic documentary, eschewing normal pathways for a more esoteric exploration of survival, science, intuition and mortality.β

βGhost Elephants resides in the intersection of science and lyrical reverie β Herzogβs treasured terrain.β

βGhost Elephants had high expectations since by National Geographic and directed by Werner Herzog. Unfortunately, watching the movie was one of the most disappointing and unprofessionally done documentaries that I have watched over the past 10 years. While there are nice ethnographical parts of the local people, the scientific part regarding the "ghost elephants" was most unprofessionally done and lacked advise and guidance by competent scientists. Instead of the failed and naive dart sampling apβ

βTony Goldwyn should have been a more popular actor. He was actually pretty exceptional in almost everything he has done but never actually made it to superstar status. Instead he kind of lingered in supporting actor limbo through the 90s and then kind of disappeared. It's a shame. And he's not the only unsung hero in Ghost, Vincent Schiavelli is in it too. It has a great cast that brings their all to the film. The script isn't that imaginative, you've seen a few movies like this bβ

β"Ghost" manages to successfully cut across a variety of genres, but unfortunately very few of them are used to particularly rewarding effect. The comedy doesn't even manage to raise the occasional chuckle, so there is a necessarily heavy reliance upon the romance. It undoubtedly soothes the heart broken amongst us to believe our loved ones are still dutifully watching over us with tender loving care and this film plays to that desire in people with a lot of help from The Righteous Brothers brillβ
