Two separate readings, not parts of the score β the score says how much of it held you, these say what kind of watch it was.

β steady β Holds one level all the way. Pulled both ways throughout β never simply one thing. Marked above the line: 1 that landed as a blow, 1 that gave people chills, 1 that got a real laugh.

βI was tearing up during the giant bull fight scene. The way he used love/understanding/forgiveness to "defeat" the beast was just so beautiful. And the way the bull's rage subsided and his expression changed from anger to immense sadness and acceptance. To top it off, the beautiful way that he faded away into glowing flower petals instead of just ash. Man.. I don't know why that scene moved me so much but it was just so beautifully portrayed. The beginning of the scene was quite perfect too, the way he looked into the sword and saw himself and the kind of person he wants to be.β
βIt takes a long time to get to the Land of the Dead sequences, rough guess almost 2/3rds of the way through. It's not most of the movie like the trailers make it out to be.β

βOverflowing with hyperactive charm and a spectacular sea of colors, it showcases some of the most breathtaking animation we've seen this decade.β

βA Mexican-accented kidsβ cartoon so colorful and unconventionally dazzling it almost reinvents the art form. As pretty as a just-punctured pinata, endlessly inventive, warm and traditional, it serves up Mexican culture in a riot of Mexican colors and mariachi-flavored music.β

βThe big eyes and the slightly cardboard-box style of animation is really quite engaging as we follow the tale of "Manolo". He's an excitable young man who finds himself torn between staying home and living the life his family want him to, and setting off and having some adventures of his own. It's the latter draw that prevails and after a trip to the museum with his friends, he is soon dealing with demons from within and without that challenge his very essence, his being - his soul, even.
