how much it moved you
Two separate readings, not parts of the score β the score says how much of it held you, these say what kind of watch it was.
Nobody has rated this on FlickFeel yet. This is public discussion of this title, read into a curve. It is not a rating and it never becomes one.
Read from 112 comments (63 from Reddit, 39 from Metacritic, 10 from TMDB reviews) β 27 of them described how it moves.
β steady β Holds one level all the way. Pulled both ways throughout β never simply one thing. Marked above the line: 1 moment that made people jump.

βshocking how little dialogue there was in the last half of the movie. Everything was about the gorgeous visuals and actionβ

βThey spent the first half setting up an actual interesting character arc with bowser attempting to suppress his evil side after seeing who Mario and Luigi really were. It couldβve been a really solid character arc (for a kids movie) that drove the story.β

βThe prime attraction of this movie, and its predecessor, is that it envelopes the audience in the Mario world. Every square inch of the screen, from top to bottom, corner to corner, is packed with images derived from the game. Easter eggs abound. Watching it is akin being inside the 2007 Super Mario Galaxy game itself. Which is why it needs to be seen on the big screen. Seeing it on a phone or a laptop wouldnβt do it justice.β

βThe story might be thin, and some new characters might not get the attention they deserve, yet The Super Mario Galaxy Movie remains a charming, often hilarious, and playful testament to the greatest video game franchise of all time.β

βI laughed at more jokes than I expected to in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.β

βIs it a ride that includes clear story structure, comprehensible stakes, or narrative momentum? Not really. Is it a ride featuring a lot of bright colors, familiar characters, and the occasional deranged moment? Absolutely.β

βMario creator Shigeru Miyamoto and Illumination founder Chris Meledandri, as producers, seem committed to keeping things light and playful even while beholden to advancing some kind of coherent, moderately compelling story where there wasnβt one previously.β

βYou know how, sometimes, you get a burger that's so thin, overcooked, and leathery that it stops being a "burger" and starts being "a vehicle for condiments"? That, to me, is Super Mario Galaxy: The story/writing is simply there to deliver Nintendo-brand nostalgia. As someone with deep love and fond memories of Nintendo, I'm okay with this---but I'm not going to pretend that the story is the narrative equivalent of Wagyu beef. Contrary to what some of the less charitable critics say, the movβ

βNow I know that I'm not really the demographic for this, but I didn't mind the last one from 2023 so had an open mind as it started. Princess 'Peach' is kidnapped by the menacing baby 'Bowser' who is none too pleased that his dad has been locked up. He is determined to use her as leverage to free him, but that is exactly what intrepid and ingenious 'Mario' and 'Luigi' intend to thwart. What now ensues is the thinnest of stories stretched across a messy collection of interstellar scenarios as theβ
